SMD Group

     The Smart Materials and Devices (SMD) group focuses on the research problems leading to innovative solutions for clean energy production, utilization, and management. We maintain a cross-disciplinary team of physics, chemistry, materials science, and engineering professionals targeting current/imminent global scientific challenges on energy materials, stimuli-responsive materials, dynamic windows, thermoelectricity, photovoltaics, and surface/interface phenomena, among others. Another primary interest is in addressing issues of device fabrication, prototyping, and scale-up. We work closely with government and private industries for technology translation.
